About The Author

Nick Zentner has taught college geology every quarter since 1987. That's lots and lots of students - and plenty of practice teaching principles of geology to non-science students. He still gets excited about teaching!

In addition to teaching Exploring Earth - Geology of Washington (GEOL 101) at Central Washington University, Nick has devoted more and more time in the field creating online videos for a wide audience. 'Nick On The Rocks' is a PBS series on KCTS in Seattle. Zentner Downtown Geology Lectures is an ongoing series each winter in downtown Ellensburg. And Nick's popular '2 Minute Geology' episodes continue to receive worldwide attention. Many of the videos are included in this textbook!
